As I have mentioned before on a previous blog post this is my favorite texture. When I first started making jewelry I didn't have what I refer to as all the "dream tools", I still don't, I had to use what I had available. Buying already made texture hammers can get expensive, so I took just your average hammer and turned them into texture hammers. Of course I am lucky to have a husband who likes to buy every tool known to mankind, so I had many hammers on hand. With this hammer I simply rounded the thinner end of the hammer with the cutting/sanding disc on my dremel. Be sure to wear all your eye and face protection because it will spark while your sanding and sometimes the disc might break and go flying. The end of the hammer is about 2-3 mm wide. I use this texture on my jewelry a lot, and if you oxidized it with liver of sulfur it is even better because it brings out the design. Your can click on the picture to enlarge photo.
