As I have mentioned in previous posts, I am snowed in,  however I have been able to dedicate my time completely to jewelry making, something I wish I could do all the time. Because I am just starting out on this new path, I can not yet quit my day job, still have to bring home the bread. It has been great though just spending the entire time creating and making fun jewelry, I most definitely would love to do this all the time. I had this old funky turquoise stone and have been wondering what I could make with it,  and the ring design just popped into my head. That is usually how it happens, at least with me,  I was working on another piece and the idea just came, I always feel so anxious that I have to make it right away, well anxious in a good way. At first I wanted to add little silver balls on the side, then I went with the flatten circles to make little towers, I thought it would balance out better with the stone because the stone itself is somewhat high. I love the way it came out it the end, will be hard to let go of it if it sells, well I hope it will.

This enamel pendant is another snow project so to speak, however I have been working on it for some time. This time the idea did not pop into to my head like the ring, I would fuss with it and then put it aside because I wasn't sure what I wanted. At first I wanted to make a hollow form with the enameled copper dish on top, but I thought that would be too much. I still wanted the piece to have dimension so I went with the double backing. I cold connected the two backings together with tube spacers and wire rivets and used prongs to hold the copper triangle dish on top. I also cut out a small triangle on the upper backing piece so the copper dish could sit in the piece. As for the enamel I used gold transparent, I call this my magic enamel because every time it comes out different due to the annealing of the copper, such a fun suprise. Both these pieces are available in my Etsy shop, feel free to check them out. Now on to another project, because it is still snowing and the pool is closed until Monday, still have a few more days of creating and making fun jewelry!!
