This is my latest creation, and I think it is my favorite so far, it might be hard to let go of this one. What I love about this cuff is the cut out heart design, it seems like it is floating upwards, and the end caps just bring the look together. I forged 10 gauge copper wire and cold connected them to the silver center piece and copper backing. The copper wire rivets also help bring the look together or add to the overall design.
What I love most about cold connections is that it is not used just for assembling your piece of jewelry, it also can add to the design or decorative look of the jewelry you are making. When I started out making jewelry I would rely on cold connections more then soldering. I use a micro torch and sometimes if what I am working on is to big, my torch can't handle the big stuff, so I would turn to cold connections. Well, now, I find I am turning more to cold connecting then the torch especially when I want to add a unique decorative touch to the piece.
However, even though I love cold connections I can't give up the torch completely, love the fire to much, that sssshhhhhh sound when you lite it up. Hopefully one day I will be able to get a big girl torch so I can handle the big stuff.
